Steeped in heritage,  The Ship Inn at Caton holds a rich history that dates back centuries. Originally established as a the local inn for weary travellers and workers visiting the area, this charming country pub has evolved into a beloved local hotspot, serving up mouthwatering cuisine and an extensive selection of beverages.

An ancient oak tree, known as the Caton Oak, stood next the Ship Inn, on which the monks of Cockersand Abbey are supposed to have hung fish for sale. The tree unfortunately fell on 20 June 2016.

Live acoustic music, comfortable seating, winter fires, outside garden, food to die for, drinks a plenty, and most importantly a family of staff that are different.

We can comfortably seat 60-80, so catering for large groups with advanced bookings is not an option. We welcome well-behaved dogs and children.

When we took the pub, 7 Freezers adorned the kitchen and store areas. Now only 2 remain. We truly believe in the freshest produce, including maintaining a bartering system for local fare.
